Tutorial School - Staff
Here are some
photos about our current tutors. Please note that
ITS also has a range of tutors and specialist consultants that
are not included below. ITS also has a range of
part time and casual tutoring staff that teach some less
demanded subjects or help out at busy times of the year.
ITS is always looking for qualified people who wish to become
tutors.

Susan
Smith: B.A., Monash; G.Dip.Ed.,N.T.U.;
G.Dip.App.Ling.,N.T.U.; M.Ed.,N.T.U.
Sue is a
fully qualified teacher with experience from
Australia and Asia. She has been registered
to teach in Hong Kong since 2003. She
teaches English Language and Literature to
all levels and she is a former IELTS examiner
and an I.B. examiner.

Gary
Hadler:
B.Ec., Dip.Ed., M.B.A.
Gary is a
qualified accountant and a registered teacher in Hong Kong
and Australia. Gary has been teaching for over 18 years and
in Hong Kong since 1999. He teaches Economics and Accounting
at all levels as well as MYOB training. He is an I.B.
examiner. Gary is also the Principal of ITS Tutorial
School.

Danny Harrington: M.A., Oxon.
Danny has been teaching in Hong Kong since
1997 and is co-founder and owner of ITS.
Having read Geography at Christ Church,
Oxford, he teaches it at all levels. He also
takes students of English for Years 8, 9 &
10 and Theory of Knowledge for IB Diploma.
Danny is also the School Manager.

Albert Ma: B.Econ. & Finance, HKU
Albert recently completed his degree at
HKU which included a period at Georgetown,
Washington D.C. He is an extremely
talented communicator for whom we have
high hopes. He has already become one of
our most popular tutors by virtue of his
subject knowledge and communicative
ability. Albert has taken on a
assistant manager position at ITS.

Anne Murphy: B.A., Tralee; Higher Dip. TEFL/TESOL
Anne has many years experience teaching English, linguistics
and communications, 6 of them in Hong Kong. She specializes in
English as a foreign language and for specific purposes for
any age group and is an accredited BULATS examiner. She is
also Director of Training for ITS Corporate Training, a
subsidiary of ITS Tutorial School specializing in language and
communications programmes for businesses.

Dr. George Adams: M.A., Oxon.; Ph.D.; P.G.D.L.(C.P.E.)
George has been teaching English, French and German in Hong
Kong since 1988. He is also an accomplished university
lecturer, contributor to the arts and has been published
extensively. He teaches English, French and German at all
levels.

Antonio Baro: B.Sc.,
Barcelona
Toni is a qualified
teacher with 15 years experience in his native country,
Spain. He is an accomplished linguist, speaking six European
languages. He joined ITS in August 2007 to teach Spanish to
all levels |

Jennifer Chung: B.J., H.K.U.
Jennifer has a degree in journalism with a second
major in English. She specializes in teaching IB and
writing for all levels.

Robert Davies: B.A., Wisconsin;
M.A., Penn. State.
A hugely enthusiastic mathematician with
over twenty years of teaching experience
from the US and in Hong Kong. ITS was
pleased to take Robert on in late 2008.

Azeem Ebrahim: B.Sc. Econ,
P.G.D.E. (current)
Azeem
graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Wharton School at the
University of Pennsylvania. He is currently completing the
PGDE course at HKU majoring in Business and Accounts. He
teaches Economics, Business, Finance and Accounting

Melissa Fife: M.A., Oxon.
Melissa read Modern European Languages at Lincoln College,
Oxford. She teaches Italian and German, as well as English
to Year 9.

Ronald Lau: M.A., Cantab.; C.A.S.M.,
Cantab.
Head of Mathematics
Ronald has been teaching Mathematics at ITS
since 2005. Always an extremely popular
tutor, he is now Head of Department.

Brian Lee:
B.Sc. Hons., Nottingham; P.G.C.E., London.
Brian is a
fully qualified teacher since 2005. He has
been teaching since 2001 in Japan and
England. He has been with ITS since the
school was founded. He teaches mathematics
to all levels.

Steven Lee: B.Sc., Liverpool.
Steven recently retired after 20 years
of teaching at the German-Swiss
International School here in Hong Kong. ITS
is privileged to have his services on a
part-time basis while he enjoys his
“retirement”. He teaches
maths to I/GCSE level.

Tim Lee: B.Sc., M.I.T.
Tim has been teaching since the late 1980s
with a specialization in Mathematics. He
has also developed a number of Math
courses for teaching in the US. He joins
ITS as both a general Mathematics teacher
and as an SAT Math specialist.

Teresa Ng: B.Sc., L.S.E.;
Cert.T.E.S.O.L.
Teresa teaches primary level Mathematics and
English. She also teaches Latin up to GCSE
level and Russian for beginners. She is an
accomplished linguist with six years
tutoring experience.

Maya Parmar: M.A., Leeds.
Maya took both her Bachelor’s degree in
English and her Master’s degree in
Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Studies
at the University of Leeds. She has tutored
students of language and literature both in
the UK and for a school in Spain. She was
recruited to ITS in December 2008.

Kay Pike: B.Sc.; T.E.F.L.;
P.G.C.E., H.K.U.
Kay has extensive
experience teaching English to very young learners and those
who have difficulties with language acquirement. She has spent
many years as a teacher within E.S.F. in Hong Kong teaching
both English and Mathematics to P1-P4. She is also qualified
to teach “special needs”.

Lucinda
Pike: B.Sc. Hons., Cardiff.
Lucinda
has a track record of both teaching and
working with children and people who face
education challenges. Her degree is in
Psychology and she has worked with
Asperger’s sufferers and has been trained to
teach autistic children. She has also taught
straightforward English to Hong Kong
children since 2005. She teaches primary
English and Psychology to all levels.

Sandra
Pun: B.Sc., Alberta
Sandra
graduated with Distinction in Biological
and Physical Sciences and brings a
wonderful holistic approach to Science
teaching for middle school students as
well as teaching Biology through high
school.

Derek Roberts: B.A.(Hons),
Dip.Ed.
Derek
brings 40 years’ of teaching experience to ITS, the last ten
in Hong Kong. He teaches a broad range of arts subjects –
English, History, Politics, Law - to name the core. He has
been a Head of Department and Deputy Principal of secondary
schools through a career spanning UK, Australia and HK. He
continues his love of teaching with his work at ITS.

Christine
Taylor: B.A., P.G.C.E., M.A.
Christine
is Head of English at American
International School, who kindly allow her
to help out at ITS in addition to her work
there. She specializes in English
Literature and SAT Critical Reading and
Writing.

Winnie Tsang: CTAP Putonghua.
Winnie is an accomplished Chinese teacher with 6 years
experience in Hong Kong. She is currently completing her
Master’s in Teaching Chinese. She is available for all
levels of Chinese learning to all age groups and purposes.

David Tyne: B.Ed., Leeds Metro.
David is a fully qualified teacher from
the UK specializing in Maths, Physics
(middle school) and Design & Technology to
all levels.
|

Christian Verhoeven:
Social & Political Sciences, Louvain; Classical
Humanities,
Sacré-Cœur.
Christian teaches Latin to beginners and French to all
levels. He is the originator of “French for all” and
has published countless books and materials on
learning French as a foreign language. He works for
ITS on a freelance basis.

Hon Yau: B.Sc. Hons.,
Manchester Poly; M.Sc., Manchester; Ph.D., Lancaster.
Hon has three
degrees in Chemistry. He has tutored students both in
the UK and in Hong Kong for GCSE, A-level, IB and
HKCEE. He teaches science to younger students and
Chemistry to all levels.

Young: B.Sc., Michigan; M.Sc., M.I.T.;
D.Phil., Arizona.
Alaine
tutors Physics at all levels. She has been
with ITS since January 2007.

Florence Yu: B.A. Hons., London; P.G.C.E., H.K.U.
Florence has been tutoring History for ITS since 2005. She
completed her P.G.C.E. at H.K.U. to become a fully qualified
teacher in 2008. She teaches History at all levels.

Gracianne Bauwin: Runs
a variety of different classes for young children to learn
to speak French. |

Donna Kristiansen: M.A., London
Donna has
an M.A. in Chinese Studies and B.A.(Hons)
in Media and Communication. She has worked
extensively in corporate training and
communication, as well teaching English to
second-language speakers. She offers a
wealth of cross-cultural and
cross-disciplinary experience to our
language staff.

Elsa Tai: M.Sc., Texas
Elsa
graduated Summa Cum Laude in her B.Sc.
at the University of Texas and went on
to complete her M.Sc. in Computer
Science there. She has worked
extensively in university-related
software development as well two years
experience teaching computer science.

Mandy Law:
– Mandy completed her education at HKIE and
comes to us with 5 years’ experience of
school administration. She is your first
point of contact at ITS and will take you
through the application and scheduling
process. |

Cecome Li: B.A. Hons., University of Northumbria.
Cecome runs the
back office administration including day-to-day
book-keeping. She should be approached for any
query you may have with billing or your account.
