Student Resources - email info@tuition.com.hk if you wish to swap a page with us. Supply and Demand Below is an introductory outline into a fairly typical basic entry Economics course that I have written. It shows the outline of what would be covered during this course. Other basic courses would be set out in a similar manner. This module is designed to give students an understanding of how material resources of an individual, a community and a country or the world are managed. This module aims to contribute to that understanding by enabling students to develop an appreciation of economic concepts and theories through a critical consideration of current economic issues, problems and institutions that affect everyday life. This module serves to help students develop an appropriate way of thinking about economics and to develop knowledge about how the both the economy and the market work. Students will be exposed to various theories and principles with a variety of examples. This module will also provide an opportunity for students to apply various economic tools to current economic issues. This module seeks to cover economic theories and concepts in the context of ‘real world’ issues to keep the subject firmly rooted in the everyday life experience of the students. The module introduces students to both micro and macro economic theory. The module focuses on four main areas: q The basic economic problem and the alternative economic systems. q Supply and demand analysis q Market failure q The Economic Role Of Government In Managing The Economy This module does not assume any prior knowledge of economics.
