Emanuela Pili has worked as a senior fashion designer in both Australia and Hong Kong for the past ten years specializing in ladies’ wear.   Throughout her career she has worked with many prestigious brands such as Sunseeker Australia, Byblos, Marks and Spencer, Urban Outfitters,  Next Uk, Sportsgirl Australia, Ripcurl International and many other international retailers and brands.  Her qualifications include: Fashion Institute of Technology Art Specialization Programme at Polimoda Institute in Italy – Overall Excellence in Design Award. Fashion and Art Specialization Advanced Diploma of Fashion , Moreton Institute of TAFE Australia - High Distinction Award

Checkers Chit - Fashion Drawing lecturer, Hong Kong Starting her design studies in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 17 years old, Checkers Chit has taken a Fashion Design Degree and a Multimedia Master’s Degree there. During nearly ten years’ experience working in the Hong Kong advertising field then, she has been expanded her knowledge in fashion design, media art and media production on her jobs. She has worked for the styling and costume design for different video projects including the TV commercial, short films, corporate video and documentary, and sometimes the script writer, director and editor also. She enjoys creating new and different workings in her life and she has written two suspense novels in 2006 and 2010. Since 2008, she has started teaching fashion design, fashion drawing and media art in local design schools. She hopes to share her experience and realization on creativity and design with the enthusiastic learners.

Fashion Figure Drawing–  Class Breakdown

Class 1 –4       Fashion Figure Basics and Proportions/ Fashion Elongation/Drawing the figure freehand/quick sketching/the profile pose/back views/assignments draw full front, profile and back poses based on magazine cuttings
Class 5 -6        Basic figure forms/ drawing legs and feet, arms and hands
Class 7- 8        Model drawing based on fashion magazines
Class 9 - 10    Fashion Heads/proportions
Class 11-12   Drawing garment details  
Class 13-14    Putting it all together

Each class is 2 hours making a total of 28 hours.

Price:You can book modules as follows. Classes 13 and 14 are only available to people who have attended Classes 1- 12. Fashion Show: Students who take both fashion figure drawing and collection building courses will be eligible to join ITS fashion show at the end of the year.

Fashion Collection Building

An advanced course to be completed after previous courses have been completed by the student, or they show proficiency to be demonstrated by portfolio of work. This course gives a detailed practical analysis of the fashion design process in building a collection to the student’s desire (and links to sewing and patternmaking classes where students sew/execute their own collection).  The course runs on a single project basis which takes the student from concept to collection presentation boards showing the fully designed collection.  Final class will culminate in an in-depth critical analysis of design given by the facilitator in the presence of all students so that they may also understand critical feedback. 
Duration:  15 x 2 hours                                  Class size: 6 students maximum

Portfolio Development Course

Designed for high school students  who will be submitting a body of work for tertiary education, working professionals who wish to sharpen their existing portfolios or who are looking to change professions into fashion.  This course will look at and develop skills for presenting design projects including technical flat drawings, theme boards, customer profile, and presentation boards. 

Duration:  10 x 2 hours                      Class size: 6 students maximum
