It also suits fashion design students whether or not the design is from their own creation or high-brand inspiration. Student have un-limited choices of choosing the fabric.
Students can choose to make 1) 1 advanced skirt from their own design for 5 sessions (12.5 hrs) for 1950 HKD

Making openings, front and back button stands, adding detail for example frills or ruffles on the garments etc. including bat-wings and kimono sleeves at their own choice. The items involved include bodices, sleeves, and different necklines. Basic embellishments can be included at the students’ discretion.

They will learn how to make draped sleeve, raglan sleeve, etc

Moulage and draping course:learning to design and make garments by draping and attaching fabrics on the stand. Basic, intermediate, and advanced available, starting with the cowl neck line dress to advanced drapes using lightweight fabrics such as silk, chiffon, or silk georgette. Student must have taken intermediate courses in skirt, blouse or dressmaking before. Learn how to drape the fabric on the mannequin to achieve your designs and fit the wearer perfectly. They will make skirt pattern, bodice, collar and sleeve. 2: Intermediate pattern-making- students will learn how to make a variation of skirt, blouse and trousers and jacket, coat and sleeves and collars 3: Advance pattern-making - students will learn how to make patterns for strapless dresses, nightwear, raglan sleeves or adding gussets, or any design if they wish 4: Pattern making for children - age 3-5 and 6-8 both for boys and girls. *** special courses***Japanese style pattern-making and finishing garments. The garments have to be done by using the mock-up fabric provided by the instructor and will be draped on the stand for the proper finish. The block pattern will be provided by the instructor. An industrial sewing machine is obviously most usually used in the large-scale manufacture of clothing, though some fashion designers prefer to use them at home to do a faster, more professional sewing job. They have much greater motor power and thus faster stitching speed when compared to household sewing machines, and are more robust.

Course length 2 sessions:1 theory and 1practical. Duration: Part 1: 3 hours in class Place : Fashion Project room Requirements: Students will need double sided sticky tape/scissors and black pen. Fee: Enroll 1 session (Theory) 1,290 HKD Course Outline: This short course builds foundational knowledge of fabrics by creating a comprehensive fabric library where students will be taught the generic names of commonly used fabrics and their relevance to their designs in terms of key features, strengths and weaknesses. Basic distinctions between man-made and natural fibres will be defined and practical care will be addressed.
